Pakistan Hockey Federation Summons Players and Management Over Poor Treatment in Australia

The Pakistan Hockey Federation has summoned national hockey team players and management to address reports of substandard treatment during the team’s recent tour to Australia.

The controversy began after videos surfaced showing inadequate facilities provided to the players during the tour. Upon returning to Pakistan, team captain Imad Butt publicly stated that the players were given poor-quality accommodations, and had to wash their own clothes and utensils. Frustrated with the situation, Imad Butt refused to continue working under the current management and demanded immediate action from the PHF, citing the limited time remaining before the World Cup.

Sources indicate that senior players, including Imad Butt and Hanan Shahid, have been called for a meeting this evening. Head coach Tahir Zaman, coach Usman, and player Zeeshan Ashraf have also been summoned.

The PHF plans to hear grievances from players and explanations from the management before making a decision. Within two days, action will reportedly be taken to finalize the team roster before they depart for Egypt to participate in the World Cup qualifying round.

PHF President Tariq Bugti will review the details regarding player accommodations and other logistical matters. After consulting with his think tank, he intends to take action against those responsible. The meeting will also discuss the team’s poor performance, including excessive goals conceded during matches.

A press conference is expected where President Tariq Bugti and Secretary Rana Mujahid will announce the decisions and actions taken in response to the complaints and performance concerns.
