Islamabad: China has reaffirmed its unwavering support for Pakistan in its fight against terrorism, with Chinese Ambassador Jiang Zidong emphasizing that his country condemns all forms of terrorism and stands firmly alongside Pakistan in its counterterrorism efforts.
The statement came during an important meeting between Ambassador Jiang Zidong and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, in which the two officials discussed security cooperation, counterterrorism strategies, and the protection of Chinese nationals and projects in Pakistan.
During the meeting, Ambassador Jiang expressed condolences and solidarity with families affected by recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan. “In this time of grief, China stands in full solidarity with the victims. We condemn all acts of terrorism and remain committed to supporting Pakistan in its ongoing struggle against terrorism,” the ambassador said.
Focus on Security Cooperation
The discussions also focused on enhancing collaboration in internal security, intelligence sharing, and cybercrime prevention. Both officials agreed to strengthen cooperation in these critical areas to improve Pakistan’s overall security infrastructure and operational efficiency against terrorist networks.
Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi highlighted the organized and premeditated nature of recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan, noting that Pakistan’s security forces responded promptly and effectively to neutralize threats. He praised the professionalism and readiness of the security personnel deployed in the region, underscoring Pakistan’s commitment to safeguarding its citizens and residents.
Protection of Chinese Nationals and Projects
Minister Naqvi briefed the Chinese ambassador on steps taken to ensure the safety of Chinese nationals and Chinese-funded projects across Pakistan. “Protecting Chinese citizens and projects is of utmost importance,” he said. “Providing every possible security measure for Chinese nationals is our top priority. In this context, a Special Protection Unit is being established specifically to safeguard Chinese personnel.”
He further emphasized that the strategic friendship between Pakistan and China cannot be harmed by any external threats. “Our partnership is stronger than ever, and both nations remain committed to mutual support and collaboration in all spheres, including counterterrorism and economic development,” Naqvi added.
Modern Technology for Counterterrorism
Interior Minister Naqvi also highlighted that modern Chinese technology and equipment would significantly support ongoing counterterrorism operations in Pakistan. The integration of advanced tools and systems is expected to enhance operational efficiency, improve intelligence capabilities, and further strengthen Pakistan’s ability to respond swiftly to emerging threats.
Both officials reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening the Pakistan-China strategic partnership, emphasizing that their collaboration extends beyond economic and trade ties to include comprehensive security and counterterrorism cooperation.
