Larkana : On the occasion of Pakistan’s Independence Day on August 14, cleanliness operations were intensified across Larkana city on the special directives of the officials of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board (SSWMB) and the Chinese company Gensu.
Sanitation staff accelerated cleaning activities in various areas of the city, including Lahori Mohalla, Sheikh Zayed Colony, VIP Road, Old Bus Stand, Ghalib Nagar, Gajanpur, Kausar Mal, Haidari Para, Bhains Colony, Rehmatpur, Nazar Mohalla, Latif Colony, Khaliq Colony, Allahabad, Bakrani Road, Karman Bagh, Fish Market, Murad Wahaan, Ali Goharabad, Sachal Colony, Bandar Road, Pakistan Chowk, Jails Bazaar, Empire Road, and Yar Muhammad Colony, as well as several other small and large neighborhoods.
As part of the cleanliness campaign, sanitation workers swept roads, streets, and lanes, while various decorative designs were created with lime to enhance the appearance of the city.
The staff also collected garbage from outside residents’ homes and transported it to designated dumping stations.
Officials of the Sindh Solid Waste Management Board and Gensu said that August 14 is Pakistan’s Independence Day, and keeping the national occasion in view, sanitation activities had been accelerated across the city.
They said the objective was to ensure that patriotic citizens attending various Independence Day programmes and rallies do not face any inconvenience and that the city remains clean and presentable throughout the celebrations.
