Sukkur : A key meeting to review arrangements for 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal, Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ, was held at the Arts Council Sukkur under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner Sukkur Nadir Shehzad Khan.

The meeting was attended by the ASP Sukkur, Assistant Commissioners of the district, Rangers officials, Town Chairmen, District Health Officer, Municipal Chairman, religious scholars, Scouts, and officers of relevant departments.

Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner Nadir Shehzad Khan said that all schools of thought and relevant institutions should celebrate 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal with mutual unity, religious harmony, and a spirit of brotherhood.

He emphasized that an exemplary atmosphere of peace, brotherhood, love, tolerance, and religious harmony should be maintained in the city during Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ so that the celebrations convey a positive message of unity and peaceful coexistence.

The Deputy Commissioner directed the Health Department to ensure the availability of doctors, paramedical staff, and essential medicines at hospitals around the clock. He also instructed authorities to establish blood donation camps and ensure the presence of ambulances and fire brigade vehicles along procession routes.

He directed the police to make foolproof security arrangements, monitor processions through CCTV cameras, and ensure effective security and surveillance at entry and exit points of the city.

To maintain smooth traffic flow, the authorities were instructed to prepare a comprehensive contingency plan and arrange vehicle-lifting services where required.

Municipal administration officials were directed to clear blocked and clogged water lines, ensure effective cleanliness arrangements, and improve street lighting so that devotees of the Holy Prophet ﷺ do not face any inconvenience during the celebrations.

The Deputy Commissioner also directed SEPCO authorities to avoid load-shedding in the city from 6:00 p.m. to 2:00 a.m. on 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal. The Sui Southern Gas Company was likewise asked to avoid gas load-shedding on the occasion.

Nadir Shehzad Khan further said that government departments, elected local representatives, and social organizations should work together to celebrate Eid Milad-un-Nabi ﷺ with dignity, peace, and brotherhood. He said collective efforts should convey to the world a positive message of unity, love, and religious tolerance.

The Deputy Commissioner directed all Assistant Commissioners to hold coordination meetings with relevant departments in their respective talukas and ensure the resolution of administrative issues.

He also instructed authorities to organize Naat recitation programmes in schools on the occasion of 12 Rabi-ul-Awwal as part of the celebrations.
