Sukkur : Under the leadership of SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan, Sukkur Police intensified operations against criminal elements and arrested two allegedly notorious dacoits in injured condition during two separate police encounters in different parts of the district on the same day.
According to a police spokesperson, police teams from New Pind Police Station and B-Section Police Station separately encountered suspected dacoits within their respective jurisdictions. Police said the suspects attempted to flee during the encounters, but officers pursued them and arrested both suspects after they were injured.
The suspect arrested in injured condition during the encounter within the jurisdiction of New Pind Police Station was identified as Tahir Laghari, while the suspect arrested during the encounter in the jurisdiction of B-Section Police Station was identified as Mureed Hussain Mahar.
Police claimed to have recovered a total of two TT pistols along with ammunition from the arrested suspects. The weapons and ammunition were taken into police custody, and further investigation has been initiated.
According to police officials, both suspects were allegedly involved in various serious crimes, including snatching, theft, robbery, and previous police encounters, and were wanted by police in connection with different cases. Their previous criminal records are also being verified, while further interrogation is underway regarding their alleged involvement in other incidents.
The two injured suspects were shifted to the relevant hospitals for medical treatment, where they are currently receiving care.
SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan praised the SHOs and police teams of New Pind and B-Section police stations for their actions to maintain law and order and combat criminal elements. He also announced CC-III commendations to encourage both SHOs for their performance.
Police authorities said operations against criminal elements will continue without discrimination across Sukkur to further improve law and order and protect the lives and property of citizens.
