Chairman Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir, Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi, conducted a detailed visit to various areas of UC-1. He reviewed the ongoing cleanliness drive, winching of drains, drainage system improvements, footpath clearing, and the setup of green belts at locations including Ijtima Gah Road and Khairabad Main Link Road. Inspecting the ongoing work, the Chairman directed the concerned officers and staff to complete all public-convenience tasks on a priority basis and maintain the cleanliness standard at all costs.
Inspecting the cleaning work on Ijtima Gah Road, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi stated that this road is one of the main thoroughfares of UC-1, used daily by a large number of citizens. The removal of garbage, mud, and other unnecessary material along the road is underway, while measures are also being taken to make the environment surrounding the highway better, organized, and cleaner.
The Chairman remarked that roads represent an area’s identity and reflect civic governance; therefore, ensuring their cleanliness, beauty, and maintenance is our responsibility. Since many citizens travel on Ijtima Gah Road daily, special attention is being given to its cleanliness to provide the public with a better, cleaner, and comfortable environment. He added that cleanliness is not limited to garbage collection alone but forms the foundation of an organized and healthy urban environment. With this mindset, cleaning initiatives across key roads, streets, and public spaces in UC-1 are being made more effective.
The Chairman of Manghopir Town also reviewed the ongoing cleaning, repair, and restoration work on the footpaths of Khairabad Main Link Road. Alongside making the footpaths usable, practical steps are being taken to establish proper, beautiful green belts along the road, which will significantly enhance the area’s urban landscape.
Regarding the establishment of green belts, Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi met with representatives of GFS Builders. Detailed discussions were held on tree plantation, plant cultivation, green belt development, and beautification along Khairabad Main Link Road.
On this occasion, the Chairman stated that establishing a wide and attractive green belt on Khairabad Main Link Road must be among our top priorities, with maximum trees and plants being planted. Green spaces not only enhance urban beauty but are also essential for clean air, a better environment, and healthy living. He added that a single tree planted today can build a better environment for future generations. Plantation plays a vital role in reducing air pollution, improving ecological balance, and mitigating heat effects in urban areas. Effective measures will be taken to promote tree plantation and green belts in available spaces across Manghopir Town.
The cleaning and winching of drains in Khairabad are also progressing rapidly. Chairman Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi inspected the work and instructed officials to keep drainage paths completely clear of obstacles, timely removing garbage, debris, and blockages. The Chairman emphasized that in view of expected rains, advance measures under the rain emergency plan are essential. Timely cleaning and winching of drains aim to ensure smooth water flow during rains and effective drainage of rainwater.
He stated that an effective rain emergency system begins not after the rain starts, but with pre-rain preparations. Hence, special focus is being placed on drain cleaning, winching, and monitoring the drainage system to minimize inconvenience to citizens during any potential situation.
Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi further added that cleanliness and drainage require constant attention. These efforts will not be limited to rainy seasons or emergency situations; routine cleaning and monitoring of drains and main roads will continue during regular days as well.
Chairman Manghopir Town Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi affirmed that public convenience and an improved urban environment are at the core of all ongoing initiatives in UC-1. Road cleaning, drain winching, footpath restoration, drainage upgrades, and green belt development are all part of an integrated municipal strategy.
He stated that our priority is to provide citizens not just basic amenities, but also a clean, safe, green, and upgraded urban environment. For this purpose, available resources are being effectively utilized to execute practical steps across different areas.
Haji Nawaz Ali Brohi stressed that public service should be visible through actions, not claims. Following this principle, work across UC-1 and various areas of Manghopir Town is being personally supervised to ensure prompt resolution of public issues and civic service improvement.
He directed the officers and staff to regularly monitor ongoing projects and cleaning work, maintain quality standards, and resolve public complaints without any delay.
Town Municipal Corporation Manghopir will continue its practical efforts to ensure a clean environment, effective drainage, better urban infrastructure, green surroundings, and quality municipal services in the future.
