ISLAMABAD: Electricity prices across Pakistan may increase by approximately Rs1 per unit under the new quarterly adjustment mechanism, as power distribution companies have submitted a request to the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).
According to sources, the proposed increase is linked to the upcoming quarterly tariff adjustment, with the existing relief period set to expire this month.
At present, consumers are receiving quarterly adjustment relief of Rs1.99 per unit. Once the relief period expires, electricity tariffs could increase from next month, subject to NEPRA’s decision.
