BADIN Nadeem Mughal, Mir Murtaza Mughal and Anis Memon, along with members of their community and friends, formally joined the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) at a well-attended programme organized in Badin under the leadership of PPP Central President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro and the Badin district leadership.
The event was attended by Sindh Assembly Member from Badin Taj Muhammad Mallah, District Chairman Jam Ali Asghar Halepoto, General Secretary Dr. Sajjad Chandio, MPA Yasmeen Shah, Mir Alhabakhsh Talpur, as well as other leaders and office-bearers of the Pakistan Peoples Party from various talukas, the city organization and union councils.
A large number of PPP workers, local representatives and supporters also participated in the programme and welcomed the new entrants into the party.
Speaking on the occasion, Nadeem Mughal thanked all the party leaders, workers and guests who attended the programme to welcome him and his colleagues.
He said that his family had maintained a relationship with the Pakistan Peoples Party from the very beginning. However, he said that for some time he had followed a different political path, but had now returned to what he described as his political home.
“I have returned to my own home and my own party, and I hope to receive the affection and support of the party leadership,” Nadeem Mughal said.
He particularly expressed gratitude to Pir Muhammad Saleh Qureshi and Jam Ali Asghar Halepoto, saying that their affection, encouragement and guidance had helped him return to the Pakistan Peoples Party.
Nadeem Mughal said he was deeply thankful to both leaders for extending their support and welcoming him back into the party.
He further stated that from now onward, he and his children would remain loyal to the Pakistan Peoples Party and continue their political association with the party.
Addressing the gathering, PPP Central President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro welcomed Nadeem Mughal and the other individuals who joined the party.
Khuhro recalled the history of the Pakistan Peoples Party and said that when Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto founded the party, it initially began with around 300 people. He said that within three years, the party had established itself in the hearts of people across the country and millions of people became supporters of Bhutto.
He said that the PPP had always given priority to bringing people together, strengthening political relationships and taking workers and supporters along with it.
Referring to the new entrants, Nisar Ahmed Khuhro said that the joining of Nadeem Mughal and his associates had made him extremely pleased.
He said the central and district leadership of the Pakistan Peoples Party had always attached great importance to the welfare of party workers, regardless of whether they were senior leaders or grassroots workers.
Khuhro also spoke about the responsibilities of elected local representatives and said that union council chairmen receive Rs1 million every month.
He advised them to spend at least Rs300,000 every month on public welfare initiatives within their respective union councils.
He particularly emphasized the installation of solar panels in homes as a means of helping citizens deal with the ongoing electricity crisis.
Khuhro said that local representatives should take practical steps to provide relief to the people and address their basic problems.
He further stated that complaints regarding elected representatives who failed to perform their responsibilities should be communicated to the party’s central leadership.
He said that those representatives who did not serve the people would have to answer for their performance when they sought party tickets in the next elections.
“Those who come to us for tickets in the next election will be asked about the services they provided to the people and the complaints received against them,” Khuhro said.
Speaking on the occasion, Jam Ali Asghar Halepoto, MPA Taj Muhammad Mallah and Pir Muhammad Saleh Qureshi also addressed Nadeem Mughal and welcomed his decision to rejoin the Pakistan Peoples Party.
They assured him that the doors of their district offices would remain open for him and other party workers at all times.
The leaders said that the PPP valued its workers and supporters and would continue efforts to strengthen the party at the grassroots level.
The gathering also reflected the party’s efforts to expand its organizational and political presence in Badin by bringing different communities and political supporters together under the PPP platform.
At the conclusion of the programme, Nadeem Mughal, Anis Memon and Murtaza Mughal presented traditional Sindhi turbans (patkas) to chief guest Nisar Ahmed Khuhro as a gesture of respect and hospitality.
Other distinguished guests were also presented with traditional Sindhi ajraks, turbans and Sindhi caps.
The event concluded with a dinner hosted for the visiting party leaders, representatives and guests.
The gathering was attended by a large number of PPP workers and local political figures, who expressed their support for the new members and pledged to strengthen the party’s organizational structure and public outreach in Badin.
