The Chinese envoy at the UN Security Council said that the United States should immediately stop any attempts to use force against Iran, and that China opposes pushing the world toward a “law of the jungle.”

Addressing the UN Security Council, the Chinese envoy stated that the US has been continuously threatening Iran with the use of force, which is casting dark clouds of another war over the Middle East.

He emphasized that the US must immediately halt any attempts to use force against Iran, and reiterated that China opposes driving the world toward lawlessness.

The Chinese envoy further stated that China opposes the use of force against the sovereignty of any country and wants issues to be resolved according to the UN Charter and international law.

He also said that Iran is a sovereign country, and the Iranian people should have the freedom to make their own decisions. The international community should assist Iran in addressing the challenges it faces.

Separately, Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also spoke by phone with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, assuring that the Iranian government and people will remain united and overcome difficulties.
