Pakistan’s Ambassador to Iran, Mudassir Tipu, has instructed Pakistani citizens residing in Iran to strictly follow the advisory issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for those wishing to return to Pakistan.
Speaking exclusively to Geo News, Mudassir Tipu said that in view of the current situation, citizens should avoid unnecessary movement and remain in constant contact with the embassy.
According to the Ambassador of Pakistan, Wi-Fi services are down in Iran, and the telephone system has also been affected.
However, he clarified that the landline connections of Pakistani embassies and consulates located in Iranian cities are functional, and Pakistani citizens can contact these numbers in case of any emergency.
Mudassir Tipu advised citizens wishing to return to Pakistan by road to reach the border at least four hours before the time of border closure.
He also emphasized that it is essential to ensure that an immigration stamp is placed on the passport at the time of return, so as to avoid any legal complications later.
Regarding students wishing to return to Pakistan, the Ambassador said that students should depart after completing the formal procedures and must obtain a clearance certificate from their respective universities.
He added that the embassy is in continuous contact with Iranian border authorities to provide maximum possible facilitation to Pakistani citizens and students.
According to Ambassador Mudassir Tipu, seventy-two (72) Pakistani students from Hormozgan University have departed for Pakistan today, while the process of return for Pakistani students from Zanjan University is also ongoing. He said that students returning from Hormozgan University were provided with full cooperation by the embassy.
