SANGHAR The Sindhi Adabi Sangat Sanghar chapter staged a protest against what it described as ongoing conspiracies against Sindh under the banner “Sindh Meri Aman” (Sindh, My Mother).
The demonstration was led by Sindhi Adabi Sangat Sanghar Secretary Habib Laghari and District Coordination Secretary Azeem Roonjho. A large number of political, social and literary activists participated in the protest.
Among those present were Sanghar Democratic Alliance leader Jabbar Junejo, Sindh Taraqqi-Pasand Party leader Saleem Dahri, Dharho Marri, Qaiser Khoso, Qadir Shah, senior Sindhi Adabi Sangat member Aajiz Mangi, Noor Khan Adil Panhwar, Qasim Adil Laghari, Wali Muhammad Khaskheli, Abdullah Nizamani, Saleh Sanjrani, Aamir Sanjrani, Hidayat Laghari, Mitho Bhai and others.
Addressing the protesters, the speakers said that they would not tolerate any attempt to undermine the unity, land, water or resources of Sindh. They called for an immediate halt to what they described as plans to divide Sindh or alter its territorial and administrative structure.
The speakers also opposed proposals for constructing canals from the Indus River in Sindh, saying that the province’s water rights and natural resources must be protected.
They demanded that the campaign for the creation of new provinces be stopped immediately and that the unity of Sindh, along with its land and water rights, be safeguarded.
The protesters raised slogans against what they termed anti-Sindh schemes and reaffirmed their commitment to protecting the province’s historical, geographical and cultural identity.
