ROHRI (Bureau Report): Unknown thieves allegedly entered the historic Baba Mangaldas Temple in Rohri and fled after stealing valuables, triggering concern among members of the Hindu community.
Following the incident, police officials reached the temple, inspected the scene and collected evidence as part of an investigation into the theft.
According to details, the incident took place at around 7 a.m. when unidentified suspects allegedly entered the historic temple located in Rohri city and stole various items before escaping. As soon as the theft was discovered, Hindu Panchayat chief Mukhi Vicky Lal Dujija informed the DSP, SHO and other concerned police officials.
A police team subsequently arrived at the temple and conducted a detailed inspection of the premises. Officials collected fingerprints and other important evidence from the scene. Police said that different aspects of the incident were being investigated and efforts were underway to identify and arrest those responsible.
Representatives of the Hindu community expressed serious concern over the theft at a historic place of worship. They said the incident had raised questions not only about the security of the temple but also about the safety of other temples and religious sites across Rohri.
The community representatives urged police and district authorities to immediately arrest the suspects involved in the incident and recover the stolen property.
They also called for a comprehensive review of security arrangements at all temples and other religious places in Rohri. They demanded increased police patrolling and an effective monitoring system around sensitive religious sites to prevent similar incidents in the future.
Police officials said the investigation was continuing and that evidence collected from the crime scene was being examined to identify and trace the suspects.
