SUKKUR (Bureau Report): Member of the Board of Directors of SEPCO Power Division (WAPDA), Sinan Islam Sheikh, visited Saint Saviour Church and met with representatives and elders of the Christian community, assuring them of continued cooperation in resolving their issues and improving basic facilities.
Speaking during the visit, Sinan Islam Sheikh said that the Christian community was playing an important role in the development, prosperity and promotion of peace in Pakistan. He praised the community’s services and said their contributions were highly commendable.
He assured the Christian community that every possible effort would be made to support their welfare, address their concerns and facilitate the provision of basic amenities. He said that the authorities would continue working to resolve genuine issues faced by minority communities.
During the visit, Sheikh was accompanied by UC Chairman Haji Muhammad Yasin Arain, Pastor Waris Amaniwal, PPP leader Shahbaz alias Bablu Gadani, Minority Councillor Shehzad Younis, Ashiq Inayat, Tariq Khan, Sarfaraz, Yousuf and others.
The SEPCO Board member also inspected the ongoing development works at Saint Saviour Church and reviewed the progress of various projects. He assured representatives and elders of the Christian community of his full cooperation in addressing their concerns.
Sinan Islam Sheikh emphasized that all minorities in Pakistan enjoy equal rights and said it was the responsibility of the government and administration to ensure that the genuine problems of minority communities were addressed on a priority basis.
Representatives of the Christian community briefed him about their issues and demands and requested assistance in resolving matters related to the church and the community.
The meeting also focused on strengthening mutual cooperation, promoting interfaith harmony and ensuring a peaceful environment for all communities. The participants agreed on the importance of continued dialogue and cooperation to address community concerns and further promote religious harmony in Sukkur.
