Six whales died after becoming stranded on the coast of New Zealand.
According to the British news agency BBC, a large number of whales were stranded on a remote beach on New Zealand’s South Island.
Media reports stated that nearly 55 pilot whales were stranded along the shoreline. Most of them were successfully returned to the sea, but unfortunately, 15 whales became badly stranded.
Reports indicate that the stranded whales were spread across approximately one kilometer of the beach, of which six whales died.
Efforts to rescue the whales are being carried out by the non-governmental organization Project Jonah.
It is worth noting that whales have previously died after becoming stranded on New Zealand’s coasts.
