DADU — District Reporter Mukhtiar Ali Jatoi: A family member of a young man allegedly killed near Dadu has held a press conference, demanding the arrest of the nominated suspects and calling on the authorities to provide justice.
Panhal Mallah, a resident of village Amir Pir near Dadu, reached the PCU Press Club Dadu and addressed the media regarding the alleged murder of his young relative, Shehzadi Mallah.
During the press conference, Panhal Mallah alleged that his family had been waiting for the arrest of the suspects for approximately 13 months, but those allegedly nominated in the case had yet to be apprehended.
Allegation of Drowning
Panhal Mallah alleged that around 13 months ago, near village Safan in the vicinity of Daulatpur, their opponents — identified as Sher Mallah, Nazir Mallah, Wadho Mallah, Akbar Mallah and Shaman Mallah — allegedly acted together to drown Shehzadi Mallah in a river.
He alleged that the young man was brutally killed and that despite the passage of more than a year, the nominated suspects had not been arrested.
Panhal Mallah called for immediate action against those allegedly responsible and urged law-enforcement authorities to investigate the matter thoroughly.
The allegations made during the press conference have not been independently verified, and the accused individuals have not, according to the information provided, publicly responded to the claims.
Allegation of an Attempt to Conceal the Case
Panhal Mallah further made a serious allegation concerning what he described as an attempt to conceal the alleged murder and prevent the truth from emerging.
He claimed that the opposing side allegedly arranged for one of its own women to be shot in the head and killed, after which, he alleged, a false case was registered against Sahib Khan Mallah and his relatives.
He maintained that the second case was allegedly intended to divert attention from the circumstances surrounding Shehzadi Mallah’s death and weaken the family’s efforts to pursue justice.
Panhal Mallah demanded that the alleged false case be investigated and withdrawn if it is found to have been registered on fabricated or misleading grounds.
Family Says It Has Been Seeking Justice
Speaking to the media, Panhal Mallah said that his family had repeatedly approached the relevant institutions and authorities in an effort to obtain justice.
However, he claimed that despite their continued efforts, they had yet to receive satisfactory relief or see the arrest of the suspects allegedly nominated in the murder case.
He appealed to senior government and police officials to take notice of the matter and ensure that the investigation is conducted fairly and without bias.
Appeal to Senior Officials
Panhal Mallah appealed to Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar, Chief Sardar Khan Muhammad Dahri, Sardar Muhammad Ayub Mallah, SSP Nawabshah, as well as responsible members of the Mallah community, to intervene in the matter.
He called for a transparent, impartial and comprehensive investigation into both the alleged murder and the subsequent case registered against his relatives.
He demanded that the alleged false case be withdrawn if the investigation establishes that it was based on false allegations.
He also called for the suspects allegedly involved in Shehzadi Mallah’s murder to be arrested in accordance with the law and for the victim’s family to be provided justice.
Demand for Transparent Investigation
Panhal Mallah said that a transparent investigation would help establish the facts surrounding the incident and determine who was responsible.
He expressed hope that if the authorities conduct an impartial investigation and take action according to the law, the truth would emerge and the affected family would have renewed confidence that justice could eventually be delivered.
He urged the authorities not to allow the passage of time to affect the investigation or prevent the family from obtaining justice.
The family has called for the relevant police and government authorities to review all available evidence, investigate the allegations made by both sides and take action strictly in accordance with the law.
The matter remains subject to investigation, and the allegations raised at the press conference have not been independently established.
