NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: Employees of the Kandiaro Town Committee staged a protest outside the Press Club in Naushahro Feroze, alleging that they had not been paid their salaries for the past three months and accusing the town officer of subjecting them to what they described as unjust treatment.

The protest was led by Shahid Sheikh, Faiza Sheikh and Ghamgeen Sial, with the participating employees raising slogans and demanding immediate payment of their outstanding salaries.

Speaking to the media during the demonstration, Faiza Sheikh and other employees alleged that Kandiaro Town Officer Saleem Memon had repeatedly pressured her to enter into an inappropriate personal relationship.

Faiza Sheikh alleged that after she refused to comply with what she described as the officer’s inappropriate demands, he allegedly began retaliating against her and other employees.

According to the protesters, their salaries have remained unpaid for the last three months, which they described as a serious injustice and an unacceptable situation for employees who depend on their monthly wages to meet their household expenses.

Allegations of Retaliation

Faiza Sheikh alleged that the withholding of salaries was connected to her refusal to comply with the alleged demands of the town officer.

She claimed that the officer was attempting to use the withholding of legitimate salaries as a means of pressuring employees to accept what she described as inappropriate demands.

The protesters maintained that they would not accept such pressure and demanded that their legal and financial rights be protected.

They also called on senior government authorities to take notice of their allegations and conduct an impartial inquiry into the matter.

Demand for Release of Salaries

The protesting employees demanded the immediate release of their salaries for the three months during which, they said, payments had been withheld.

They said that withholding employees’ wages had caused them serious financial difficulties and urged the relevant authorities to intervene without further delay.

The protesters also demanded action against the Kandiaro Town Committee town officer over the allegations raised during the demonstration.

They appealed to senior officials to investigate the matter and determine whether the salaries had been withheld unlawfully or in retaliation for refusing alleged inappropriate demands.

Warning of Further Protest

The employees warned that if their outstanding salaries were not released and action was not taken over their complaints, they would launch further protests.

They said they would intensify their demonstrations if the authorities failed to respond to their demands.

The protesters called upon the relevant government departments and senior officials to ensure that employees receive their lawful salaries and that workplace complaints are investigated fairly.

They emphasized that employees should be able to perform their duties without facing harassment, intimidation or pressure.

The allegations made during the protest have not independently been verified, and the town officer named by the protesters has not, according to the information provided, issued a response to the accusations.

The employees have called for an impartial investigation so that the facts can be established and appropriate action can be taken according to the law.
