According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted the operation on August 7 after receiving intelligence about the presence of militants associated with Fitna al-Khawarij, which Pakistan describes as an Indian proxy group.

During the operation, security forces effectively targeted the militants’ hideout and killed seven militants. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from their possession.

According to ISPR, the militants were involved in the killing of several civilians.

During the operation, Captain Hamza Ikram embraced martyrdom while courageously confronting the militants. ISPR said that Captain Hamza was leading his troops and continuously pursuing the militants when he made the ultimate sacrifice.

The military said that a sanitization operation is continuing in the area to eliminate any remaining militants and ensure that the area is fully secured.

ISPR reiterated that Pakistan’s counterterrorism campaign will continue with full determination to eliminate the threat of terrorism.

The military also said that the sacrifices of brave soldiers strengthen the nation’s resolve to protect the country and ensure the safety and security of its people.

The operation in Hangu highlights the continued efforts by security forces to target militant networks through intelligence-based operations. Such operations are aimed at preventing further attacks and disrupting militant activities in the region.

The sacrifice of Captain Hamza Ikram was also acknowledged as an example of courage and dedication in the line of duty. His bravery while leading his troops against the militants has been described as a reflection of the commitment of Pakistan’s armed forces to national security.
