A modern Safe City surveillance project has been officially launched in Harnai, with Deputy Commissioner Mir Arshad Hussain Jamali and Frontier Corps 81 Wing Commander Colonel Arbab Ali Khan jointly inaugurating the newly completed CCTV camera network.
the project, completed under the BSDI Phase-II programme at a cost of Rs23 million, was formally opened during a ceremony attended by government officials, political and tribal leaders, and a large number of local residents.
Speaking at the event, Deputy Commissioner Jamali said the installation of the advanced surveillance system is intended to further improve law and order in the city while ensuring the safety of residents and their property.
He added that the CCTV cameras would help prevent crime and enhance the effectiveness of law enforcement agencies through better monitoring and quicker responses to security incidents.
Colonel Arbab Ali Khan said the project reflects close cooperation between the public and security institutions.
He noted that the use of modern technology would play an important role in making Harnai a safer city and said further measures would be introduced to strengthen public security.
Representatives of the local traders’ association and members of the community welcomed the completion of the Safe City project, describing it as a significant development for the people of Harnai.
They also expressed their appreciation to the provincial government, the district administration and Frontier Corps officials for completing the initiative.
