MIRPURKHAS (Report: Khudabakhsh Chohan): The Sindh Government Library Mirpurkhas observed Kashmir Exploitation Day with national spirit and enthusiasm to express solidarity with the people of Kashmir.
A large number of students, teachers, civil society representatives, and library readers participated in the event, which was organized under the supervision of Shabbir Ahmed Laghari, Director Sindh Government Library Mirpurkhas.
The chief guest of the ceremony was Professor Jameel Ahmed Qureshi, Deputy Director Secondary Education Mirpurkhas. Addressing the gathering, he paid tribute to the courage, determination, sacrifices, and resilience of the Kashmiri people.
He said that August 5 is observed as Kashmir Exploitation Day to highlight the impact of actions taken in Indian-administered Kashmir and to reaffirm Pakistan’s moral, political, and diplomatic support for the right to self-determination of the Kashmiri people.
Professor Qureshi stated that the people of Pakistan stand with their Kashmiri brothers and sisters and will continue supporting their right to self-determination in accordance with relevant United Nations resolutions.
Speaking on the occasion, Shabbir Ahmed Laghari said that the purpose of observing the day is to remember the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people and create awareness among the younger generation about the Kashmir issue. He urged youth to promote the values of peace, justice, and human rights through education and awareness.
Participants expressed solidarity with the people of Kashmir and offered special prayers for the departed souls of those who lost their lives, the well-being of the Kashmiri people, and lasting peace in the region.
The ceremony concluded with a collective prayer, where participants reaffirmed their commitment to continuing efforts to raise awareness about the Kashmir issue through educational and literary activities.
