SKARDU: The bodies of three more climbers who lost their lives in the Broad Peak avalanche incident have been recovered and transported to the base camp, according to sources.

An avalanche struck Broad Peak a few days ago, resulting in the deaths of 10 climbers. Sources said that the bodies of three additional victims were retrieved from a difficult location and brought to the base camp.

Sources further revealed that the body of a Nepali climber has also been shifted to the base camp, while the final funeral arrangements will be carried out in the United Kingdom.

The recovered bodies were located at an altitude of around 5,000 metres in a challenging area. Authorities and rescue teams are expected to transport the bodies to Skardu by helicopter.

Meanwhile, the bodies of two missing climbers have still not been recovered. Among those missing are Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi and a female climber.

Rescue teams continue efforts to locate the remaining missing climbers despite the difficult terrain and harsh weather conditions in the region.
