KARACHI: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PMDC) has officially postponed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 following the directive of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. The entrance examination, originally scheduled for August 16, 2026, will now be held on September 20, 2026.
According to a PMDC statement, the decision was taken to ensure that the examination is conducted in a more organized, secure, transparent, and candidate-friendly manner. The council said the revised schedule is intended to facilitate both students and examination authorities while maintaining the integrity of the admission process.
The PMDC clarified that only the examination date has been changed, while all other conditions, eligibility criteria, examination regulations, and administrative arrangements will remain unchanged. The council added that if any further revisions become necessary, they will be communicated through an official notification.
The council has advised students, parents, educational institutions, and all other stakeholders to stay updated through the PMDC’s official website and other official communication channels for the latest announcements and instructions regarding the examination.
Expressing regret over any inconvenience caused by the postponement, the PMDC thanked candidates and stakeholders for their patience and cooperation, reaffirming its commitment to conducting a fair, transparent, and well-managed admission test for aspiring medical and dental students across Pakistan.
