Governor Sindh Syed Nihal Ahmed Hashmi has said that the tenure of former Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan is considered a golden period in the history of Sindh. He said that Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan’s administrative skills, public services, and development vision are still appreciated by people from different walks of life. He expressed these views during a special meeting with a high-level delegation of Meri Pehchan Pakistan (MPP) at Governor House Karachi. The delegation discussed various public issues, development projects, and matters related to education, healthcare, employment opportunities, and youth empowerment in Sindh, especially Karachi and Hyderabad. Governor Sindh said that empowering the youth through quality education, technical skills, employment opportunities, and modern technology is among the top priorities of the government. He added that the federal government is focusing on expanding technical and vocational education institutions under NAVTTC to equip young people with modern skills and create better career opportunities. During the meeting, senior MPP leader Muhammad Panah Panhiar demanded the immediate activation of Kohsar Medical College Hyderabad, which is nearly 95 percent complete. He said that making the project functional would provide better healthcare and educational facilities to the people of the region. The delegation also demanded the immediate opening of the 36-B Landhi Medical College in Karachi, stating that the project was initiated during the tenure of former Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ibad Khan and could play an important role in improving medical education and healthcare facilities. Muhammad Panah Panhiar also highlighted several issues, including Hyderabad Trauma Center, inactive filter plants, the deteriorating condition of Civil Hospital Hyderabad, establishment of an Artificial Intelligence (AI) Centre in Hyderabad, opening of an IBA campus, prolonged load shedding by HESCO, development of Rani Bagh, and other civic matters. Other members of the delegation also presented suggestions regarding healthcare, education, employment, urban development, and workers’ rights. Professor Umar Farooq highlighted issues related to Dow University Hospital and the health sector, while Nihal Ahmed Siddiqui discussed challenges faced by Karachi’s youth, federal development funds, employment opportunities, and urban development projects. Governor Sindh Syed Nihal Ahmed Hashmi assured the delegation that all issues related to the federal government would be forwarded to the relevant authorities for necessary action. He further said that matters concerning the provincial government would also be communicated to the Sindh government to ensure progress and timely resolution. The Governor said that Sindh must be transformed into a region of peace, development, tolerance, and brotherhood by eliminating hatred, prejudice, and linguistic divisions. He emphasized the need to provide equal opportunities, quality education, and better prospects for the youth. During the meeting, Governor Sindh also congratulated Dr. Mohsin Yar Khan, son of Saif Yar Khan, for achieving remarkable success at the international educational level. He said that talented youth are a valuable asset for Pakistan. At the conclusion of the meeting, the MPP delegation thanked Governor Sindh for his cooperation and expressed their commitment to maintaining continuous coordination and efforts for the resolution of public issues in Sindh, Karachi, and Hyderabad.
