Chilas: A flood situation has emerged in Chilas following heavy rainfall, causing damage to agricultural land and crops, while several people have lost their lives in rain-related incidents.
Authorities have closed Babusar Road to all types of traffic due to the flood situation and rising water flows in the area.
According to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, six people have been killed and six others injured in rain-related incidents across the province since July 29. The authority added that around 65 houses have also been damaged during the period.
The PDMA said that the incidents occurred in various districts, including Abbottabad, Peshawar, Swat, Buner, Khyber, and Chitral, among other areas.
Meanwhile, according to the Flood Forecasting Division Lahore, low-level flooding continues in the Indus River at Kalabagh, Chashma, and Guddu barrages.
Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious as further rainfall may increase the risk of flooding and related emergencies.
