Kabul: Armed opposition against the Taliban government in Afghanistan appears to be expanding, with a new anti-Taliban group emerging in the country.
According to sources, resistance among Afghan citizens against the Taliban’s governance system, alleged ethnic discrimination, and corruption has increased. Sources also claimed that opposition to restrictions on education, employment, and human rights has grown, while migration of Afghans toward Europe has increased.
Sources said that the new group has emerged in Faryab province of Afghanistan. The group, known as the Liberation Front, reportedly carried out an attack against the Taliban in Faryab on Monday. The group is expected to formally announce its organizational structure and activities within a few days.
According to sources, other anti-Taliban groups, including the Afghanistan United Front, led by General Sami Sadat, and the Afghanistan Freedom Front, led by General Yasin Zia, have also announced plans to intensify resistance against the Taliban.
In recent weeks, areas including Yiftal, Zebak, and Argo districts of Badakhshan have witnessed anti-Taliban activities, while Faryab has also become a center of new resistance movements. Another attack on the Taliban was also reported in Ghurmach district.
Meanwhile, sources claimed that the Taliban have killed 186 former military personnel over the past three months. These claims have not been independently verified.
