Lahore: The entry of motorcycles and rickshaws has been banned on two more major roads in Lahore.

According to the new restrictions, motorcycle rickshaws and motorcycles will no longer be allowed on Canal Road and Ferozepur Road. Earlier, similar restrictions were already imposed on Mall Road, Jail Road, and Main Boulevard.

The Punjab government has also made the use of masks mandatory for people traveling on motorcycles and issued official instructions in this regard.

It is worth mentioning that the provincial government has decided to stop the production of petrol-powered motorcycles and rickshaws. The production of petrol motorcycles will also be phased out gradually.

The government has further made it mandatory for all provincial government departments to purchase only electric and hybrid vehicles, along with electric motorcycles, in the future.
