Sukkur: Sukkur Police have arrested an alleged drug dealer and recovered one kilogram of hashish from his possession during an operation against narcotics suppliers, police officials said.
According to police spokesperson, operations against drug dealers and other social evils are continuing under the directions of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Sukkur Azhar Khan. In this regard, B-Section Police Station conducted an action and arrested a suspect allegedly involved in supplying narcotics.
Police said that the SHO B-Section Police Station, along with his team, carried out a successful operation within the limits of the police station and apprehended the accused identified as Mir Hassan Mehr.
During the search, police claimed to have recovered 1,000 grams of hashish from the possession of the arrested suspect. The recovered narcotics were taken into custody, and a case was registered against the accused under relevant sections of the narcotics law.
An FIR No. 136/2026 has been registered at B-Section Police Station under Section 9(i)3C of the Sindh Control of Narcotic Substances Act.
Police officials said that further investigation is underway to obtain information about other individuals allegedly involved in the supply network of illegal drugs. Authorities are also trying to determine the source of the recovered narcotics and identify possible links connected to the accused.
SSP Sukkur Azhar Khan appreciated the efforts of the police team involved in the operation and stated that actions against drug dealers and all other forms of social crimes would be further intensified across the district.
He directed police officials to continue intelligence-based operations and take strict action against elements involved in activities that harm society. The police department has reiterated its commitment to controlling drug-related crimes and ensuring a safer environment for citizens.
