Dubai: The International Cricket Council (ICC) has imposed an eight-year ban on American cricketer Budugam Akhilesh Reddy after finding him guilty of multiple breaches of the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.
According to an ICC statement, Reddy committed three separate violations of the Anti-Corruption Code during the Abu Dhabi T10 League 2025. Following an investigation, the ICC’s Anti-Corruption Unit concluded that the offences warranted a lengthy suspension from all cricket-related activities.
The governing body confirmed that the eight-year ban is effective from November 21, 2025, making Reddy ineligible to participate in any cricket played under the ICC or its member boards during the suspension period.
The ICC reiterated its commitment to protecting the integrity of the sport and emphasized that strict action will continue to be taken against players and officials involved in corrupt practices. The council urged all participants in international and domestic cricket to fully comply with anti-corruption regulations and promptly report any suspicious approaches or activities.
The decision highlights the ICC’s ongoing efforts to maintain transparency and fairness in cricket by enforcing its anti-corruption framework across all sanctioned tournaments, including franchise leagues such as the Abu Dhabi T10.
