KARACHI: Pakistan Railways Police have recovered approximately 32 tons of allegedly stolen railway material, including railway tracks worth millions of rupees, during a targeted operation in Karachi’s Orangi Town.
According to a statement issued by the Railways Police, the operation resulted in the seizure of stolen railway tracks and other railway materials with an estimated value running into millions of rupees.
Police also arrested four suspects allegedly involved in stealing railway tracks. Authorities said the suspects were found in possession of track-cutting equipment, which was seized during the raid.
An investigation has been launched to determine the origin of the recovered material and to identify any additional individuals who may be connected to the alleged theft network.
Inspector General of Pakistan Railways Police said the department would further intensify its crackdown against those involved in the theft of railway property and damage to national assets.
He emphasized that strict action would continue against individuals responsible for stealing railway infrastructure, adding that protecting public property remains a top priority for the department.
The allegations against the arrested suspects are based on the police statement and remain subject to investigation and judicial proceedings.
