Mirpurkhas, August 2, 2026: Monsoon rainfall brought pleasant weather to Mirpurkhas, providing much-needed relief from the intense heat and humidity. Residents welcomed the change in weather, while children and young people enjoyed the rainfall.
However, the rain also caused waterlogging in several parts of the city, particularly around Char Minar Chowk and nearby areas, disrupting traffic and making daily travel difficult for residents.
Standing rainwater on roads and streets created problems for pedestrians, motorcyclists, and motorists, slowing movement across the affected areas.
Residents said that similar issues arise every monsoon season, yet no lasting measures have been taken to address the problem. They urged the authorities to improve the city’s drainage system to prevent recurring waterlogging and minimize public inconvenience during future rains.
