PESHAWAR: Security forces carried out multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa over the past two months, targeting suspected militant hideouts and networks, according to security sources.
The sources said that during Operation “11 Gharj”, security personnel reportedly killed several suspected militants and destroyed a number of their hideouts in different areas of the province.
According to the security sources, the operations also resulted in the arrest of alleged facilitators of militant groups. A quantity of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was reportedly recovered during the raids.
In a separate operation in the Shakro area of Bajaur district, security forces targeted suspected militant positions. Security sources claimed that several militants were killed or injured during the operation, although no independent confirmation of the reported casualties was immediately available.
The sources further stated that troops successfully located and destroyed several improvised explosive devices (IEDs) during the operations, reducing the threat to both security personnel and civilians.
The latest operations are part of ongoing counterterrorism efforts aimed at disrupting militant networks and improving security in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where intelligence-based operations have been intensified in response to recent attacks.
Security officials said search and clearance operations continue in the affected areas to locate any remaining suspects and eliminate potential security threats.
