SUKKUR: A large number of allottees of Bilqees Plaza staged a protest on Miani Road against Ayaz Khan Builders, alleging an unjustified delay in the issuance of property registration documents despite having taken possession of their flats and shops and making substantial payments.

The demonstration was led by Bilqees Plaza Association President Kashif Jhanda. Men, women, and other affected buyers participated in the protest, carrying placards and chanting slogans against the builder. The protesters demanded immediate intervention by the authorities to resolve the matter and ensure that all legitimate owners receive their legal property documents without further delay.

Speaking to the media during the protest, Kashif Jhanda said the Bilqees Plaza project was launched in 2023 with assurances that buyers would receive complete ownership documentation after fulfilling the agreed payment schedule. According to him, possession of the residential flats and commercial shops was handed over to buyers in 2025, raising hopes that the registration process would be completed shortly afterward.

However, he alleged that despite the passage of considerable time, the builder has failed to provide the promised registration documents, leaving numerous families and business owners in a state of uncertainty.

“We have fulfilled our commitments and paid nearly the full amount for our properties,” Kashif Jhanda said. “Yet, we have not received the legal registrations. Without these documents, our ownership remains incomplete, and we continue to face unnecessary stress and insecurity.”

He added that many of the affected buyers had invested their lifetime savings into purchasing homes or commercial units in the plaza. Some had even arranged loans or sold other assets to finance their investments, believing they would soon become legal owners of their properties.

The protesters expressed concern that the absence of official registration documents prevents them from fully exercising their ownership rights. They said they are unable to transfer, sell, mortgage, or legally verify ownership of their properties until the registration process is completed.

Several participants, including women, said the prolonged delay has caused financial and emotional hardship. They urged the relevant authorities to investigate the matter and compel the builder to fulfill all contractual obligations.

The demonstrators accused Ayaz Khan Builders of repeatedly delaying the registration process without providing a satisfactory explanation. They claimed that multiple assurances had been given in the past regarding the early completion of documentation, but no practical progress has been made.

Protesters demanded that the district administration and other relevant government departments take immediate notice of the issue. They also called for legal action against those responsible if any violations of property or contractual laws are found.

“We are peaceful citizens who simply want our legal rights,” one protester said. “We have paid for our properties and deserve the ownership documents that were promised to us.”

The protesters maintained that they have exhausted various channels to resolve the matter through dialogue but have seen little progress. As a result, they decided to organize the public demonstration to draw the attention of the authorities and the wider public.

They warned that if their demands continue to be ignored, they would expand their protest campaign through larger demonstrations and additional legal action.

The participants urged the concerned departments responsible for land records and property registration to verify the status of the project and facilitate the immediate issuance of the pending registration documents. They said timely government intervention could prevent further disputes and protect the interests of innocent buyers.

The protest remained peaceful throughout, with participants calling upon officials to ensure transparency and accountability in the housing sector. They emphasized that property buyers should not be subjected to prolonged uncertainty after fulfilling their financial obligations.

The protesters concluded by reiterating their demand that all pending registrations be issued without delay and that any administrative or legal hurdles be resolved promptly. They said they would continue to pursue their lawful rights until the matter is fully addressed.

No immediate response from Ayaz Khan Builders or the relevant authorities was available regarding the allegations made by the protesters at the time of filing this report. The claims made by the demonstrators have not been independently verified.
