Sukkur (Bureau Report) A mother and her son, residents of Rohri, staged a protest outside the Sukkur Press Club, demanding justice, legal protection, and an impartial investigation into allegations of abuse, harassment, and threats. The protesters appealed to the authorities to take immediate notice of the matter and ensure their safety. The protest was led by Ms. Saima along with her son, Abdul Rafi Memon. Speaking to the media, Abdul Rafi alleged that his father, Abdul Wahab, had subjected him to physical abuse, intimidation, and repeated threats of implicating him in false criminal cases. According to Abdul Rafi, his parents were divorced nearly six years ago. He stated that he is one of five siblings and that, following court orders, he was placed in the custody of his father. He claimed that during his stay with his father, he was repeatedly subjected to physical and mental abuse. He further alleged that his father failed to provide proper education, daily living expenses, suitable accommodation, and other basic necessities, causing him severe emotional distress and hardship. Abdul Rafi also claimed that his father had him detained at Rohri Police Station on three separate occasions, where he was allegedly subjected to physical abuse. He further alleged that he is now being threatened with false cases involving narcotics and alcohol in an attempt to intimidate and harass him. Addressing the media, Ms. Saima urged the authorities to conduct a fair, transparent, and independent investigation into the allegations. She requested that legal protection be provided to both her and her son to safeguard them from any potential harm. The mother and son appealed to the Inspector General of Police Sindh, the Deputy Inspector General of Police Sukkur Range, the Senior Superintendent of Police Sukkur, and other concerned authorities to take immediate notice of the matter, order a thorough inquiry into the allegations, ensure their protection, and provide them with justice in accordance with the law.
