HYDERABAD (Bureau Report): The District Bar Association Hyderabad organized a one-day awareness seminar on heart disease prevention and the harmful effects of smoking, emphasizing the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle and promoting tobacco-free communities.

Addressing the seminar, renowned cardiologist Dr. Shaukat Memon said cardiovascular diseases remain among the leading causes of death worldwide. He stressed that the risk of heart disease can be significantly reduced by maintaining a balanced diet, exercising regularly, managing stress, controlling blood pressure and diabetes, and completely avoiding tobacco use.

Dr. Memon highlighted that smoking not only damages the heart but also severely affects the lungs and other vital organs. He emphasized that raising awareness among the younger generation about the dangers of tobacco use is an urgent need and called for collective efforts to discourage smoking.

The seminar was attended by District Bar Association Hyderabad President Ashar Majeed Khokhar Advocate, former High Court Bar Association President Ishrat Ali Lohar Advocate, Joint Secretary Tanveer Ahmed Junejo Advocate, Javed Iqbal, Mahmood Qaimkhani Advocate, Babar Raja Khan, Kamran Hashmi, representatives of Kohsar Hospital, and a large number of lawyers and community members.

At the conclusion of the event, the District Bar Association Hyderabad presented a Certificate of Appreciation to Health Focal Person Muhammad Ayub Sheikh in recognition of his outstanding services and contributions to promoting public health awareness.

The organizers reaffirmed their commitment to continuing awareness initiatives aimed at encouraging healthier lifestyles and reducing the prevalence of smoking-related diseases in society.
