BAHAWALPUR: Senior Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader and Member of the National Assembly Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar has passed away after a prolonged illness, his family confirmed.

According to family members, Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar had been unwell for several weeks. They said he suffered a brain hemorrhage, after which he underwent surgery. Despite medical treatment, he could not recover and passed away.

His death has been met with grief among political leaders, party workers, and supporters, who have expressed condolences to the bereaved family and paid tribute to his contributions to public service and politics.

Malik Muhammad Iqbal Channar was a prominent figure in the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and represented his constituency as a member of the National Assembly. Throughout his political career, he remained actively involved in parliamentary affairs and party activities.

The late politician was also the father of Malik Zaheer Iqbal Channar, the Deputy Speaker of the Punjab Assembly.

Following the confirmation of his death, messages of sympathy and prayers for the deceased began pouring in from political colleagues and well-wishers. Leaders from various political parties are expected to attend his funeral and offer condolences to the family.
