NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: A 57-year-old farm worker died following an alleged assault over a dispute related to irrigation water in Pir Pandhi village, near Bhiria City, police and family members said.

According to initial reports, the deceased, identified as Muharram Rajpar, had gone to agricultural land in connection with a water distribution turn when the alleged incident took place.

Police reached the scene after receiving information, shifted the body to a nearby hospital, and initiated legal formalities.

The victim’s family staged a protest outside the hospital, demanding the immediate arrest of those they hold responsible for the death.

Speaking to the media, the deceased’s son, Shahid Ali Rajpar, alleged that his father was attacked by Mureed Rajpar, Anwar Rajpar, Umar Rajpar, and others during the dispute. He claimed the suspects assaulted his father by kicking and punching him and allegedly strangled him, resulting in his death. These allegations are those of the family and have not been independently verified.

The family appealed to the SSP Naushahro Feroze and Bhiria Police to arrest the accused promptly and ensure justice.

Hospital doctor Dr. Usman Junejo said no visible external injury marks were found on the body during the initial examination. He stated that, following the post-mortem examination, biological samples would be sent to a laboratory in Rohri for forensic analysis. The exact cause of death will be determined after the laboratory and post-mortem reports are completed.

When contacted, Bhiria Police confirmed that officers had recovered the body from the scene and shifted it to the hospital. Police said the investigation is ongoing and that a criminal case will be registered based on the findings of the medical report and the complaint submitted by the victim’s family.

Police also stated that raids are being conducted to apprehend the individuals named in the allegations. The investigation remains in progress.
