DUBAI: Dubai Immigration has announced a new initiative aimed at assisting individuals facing visa-related problems, offering a range of support services for those stranded or experiencing legal or residency difficulties in the emirate.
During a press briefing, Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General of Dubai’s General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA), said that individuals encountering visa issues should immediately contact Dubai Immigration and visit the Al Awir Centre to explain their circumstances.
According to Lt. Gen. Al Marri, the authorities will provide temporary accommodation to those without a place to stay and offer food and other essential assistance to individuals in need.
He added that beneficiaries of the initiative would also receive free medical check-ups, including dental treatment, as part of the support package.
The Dubai Immigration chief said the department would also help resolve issues preventing individuals from returning to their home countries and facilitate their repatriation where necessary.
Officials further announced the launch of a new support centre dedicated to assisting tourists and job seekers who are stranded or facing difficulties in Dubai.
Lt. Gen. Al Marri said tourists and people searching for employment in Dubai are considered valued guests and emphasized that the authorities are committed to helping resolve their problems through guidance, support services, and coordination with relevant departments.
The initiative is intended to provide humanitarian assistance while helping individuals regularize their immigration status or make arrangements for their safe return home, depending on their circumstances.
