BADIN: Police in Badin district arrested nine suspects, including a proclaimed offender and members of an alleged motorcycle theft gang, during a series of operations conducted on the directives of DIG Hyderabad Range Tariq Razzak Dharejo and SSP Badin Qamar Raza Jiskani.
According to police, Badin Police Station arrested absconding suspect Liaquat Ali Mallah and recovered more than one kilogram of hashish from his possession.
In a separate operation, Matli Police arrested two alleged motorcycle lifters, Siddiq Parabi and Saleem Mallah, and recovered a stolen motorcycle that had been dismantled.
Shaheed Fazil Rahu Police raided an illegal liquor distillery, recovering 340 liters of locally brewed liquor and arresting Rashid Jatoi, while another suspect, Rohal Nizamani, escaped. The same police station also arrested proclaimed offender Saddam Hussain Laghari and later detained Mukhtiar Jatoi, recovering 550 Safina gutka sachets from him.
Pangrio Police recovered 5,500 Safina gutka sachets during an operation, although two suspects, Nek Muhammad alias Neko Chadar and Shah Jahan Khoso, fled the scene. In another raid, police arrested Mashooq Ali Mallah and recovered 330 Safina sachets.
Kario Ghanwar Police arrested Agha Jan Sindhi Pathan, while his accomplice escaped, and seized 2,200 Safina gutka sachets.
Meanwhile, Tando Ghulam Ali Police arrested Nauman alias Nomi Mehr Khaskheli and recovered 350 packets of Mainpuri gutka from his possession.
Police said operations against absconders, drug traffickers, bootleggers, and gutka suppliers will continue across the district.
