Sukkur: Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sukkur Electric Power Company (SEPCO), Ghulam Mustafa Laghari, chaired a high-level meeting at the SEPCO Headquarters in Sukkur to review the company’s overall performance, operational activities, recovery targets, consumer-related issues and progress on ongoing development projects.
The meeting was attended by senior company officials, including Company Secretary Bahawal Jameel, Chief Engineer Development PMU Abdul Ghani Shaikh, Chief Commercial Officer Mushtaq Hussain Abbasi, Chief Operations Director Muhammad Ali Memon, Director Commercial Muhammad Asadullah Mughal, Director Legal Abdul Sattar Mallah, Project Director Construction Shabbir Ahmed Solangi, Director Planning & Design Ghulam Ali Tanio, Regional Manager M&T Irshad Ali Baloch, Project Director GSC Abdul Haq Dahani, and Superintending Engineers from Sukkur, Ghotki, Larkana, Shikarpur and Dadu, along with other relevant officers.
During the meeting, the Chairman reviewed the monthly performance and recovery targets of all operational circles and directed officers to achieve recovery goals through improved field monitoring and effective strategies.
Ghulam Mustafa Laghari stressed that SEPCO’s top priority is to ensure reliable, stable and uninterrupted electricity supply to consumers. He instructed officials to address issues such as unannounced load shedding, frequent tripping, low voltage and other technical faults on a priority basis to provide maximum relief to consumers.
The Chairman also directed the Project Director Construction and GSO officials to expedite ongoing development projects, including grid stations and transmission and distribution system upgrades, to strengthen the power network and improve service reliability.
He announced that another review meeting would be held next month to assess progress on the directives issued and evaluate the performance of all concerned officers. He emphasised that every officer must perform their duties with integrity, professionalism and a strong sense of responsibility.
The Chairman further instructed that all consumer complaints should be resolved on a priority basis and that electricity theft detection proceedings, where necessary, must be conducted strictly in accordance with applicable laws, NEPRA regulations, company policy and the prescribed mechanism to ensure transparency and protect consumers from unnecessary inconvenience.
Reaffirming SEPCO’s commitment to public service, Ghulam Mustafa Laghari said the company would utilise all available resources to reduce consumer complaints, particularly those related to unannounced load shedding, tripping, low voltage, overbilling and detection cases, while strengthening public confidence through timely and transparent service delivery.
