Karachi The National Police Awards 2026 ceremony was held in Karachi under the auspices of the Friends Club of Pakistan (FCOP) in collaboration with the International Police Association (IPA), Sindh Region 5. The prestigious event brought together senior police officials, members of law enforcement agencies, civil society representatives, lawyers, business leaders, media professionals, and distinguished personalities from various walks of life. The chief guests were Sindh Minister for Katchi Abadis Najmi Alam and former Inspector General of Police Sindh, Ghulam Qadir Thebo, PSP. Among the notable attendees were Dr. Muhammad Asim Kareem, Director General Fisheries, Government of Sindh, Syed Makhdoom Ali Riaz, Chairman PACC, Emmanuel Saba, Syed Akhtar Mir, Provincial Secretary of Sindh Boy Scouts, Dr. Haseena Jamali, Deputy Director Social Welfare, renowned wrestler Sher Khan, and several other prominent personalities. The ceremony commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, Naat-e-Rasool-e-Maqbool ﷺ, and the National Anthem. Speakers highlighted the objectives of the event and paid tribute to the valuable contributions of police and law enforcement personnel in maintaining law and order, combating crime, intelligence operations, cybercrime prevention, traffic management, women’s protection, public service, and professional integrity. Addressing the gathering, the chief guests congratulated FCOP and the organizers for successfully hosting the National Police Awards 2026. They stated that recognizing the dedication, sacrifices, and professional excellence of police officers boosts morale, strengthens public confidence, and promotes a culture of appreciation for public service. During the ceremony, outstanding police officers and members of law enforcement agencies were presented with the National Police Awards 2026 in recognition of their exceptional services in various fields. Among the recipients, former IGP Sindh Ghulam Qadir Thebo received the Lifetime Achievement Award, Naseem Ara Panhwar was honored with the Distinguished Police Service Excellence Award, Dani Rana received the Command and Leadership Award, Zakia Malik was presented with the Women in Law Enforcement Excellence Award, Tariq Jadoon received the Innovation in Policing Award, Sabir Arain and Ahmed Shabbir Memon (Retd.) were honored with the National Service Award, while Ahmed Shabbir Memon (Retd.) also received the Public Service Award. Other awardees included Naseem Ahmed for Criminal Investigation Excellence, Muhammad Sohail for Traffic Policing Excellence, Aqeel Ahmed for Anti-Financial Crime Excellence, Muhammad Ameen Khan for Inter-Agency Excellence, Asim Ali for Environmental Protection, Dr. Aroosa Khan for Public Service Excellence, Muhammad Aslamullah Rajput for the United Nations Law and Peace Cap (International Special Force) Excellence Award, Mir Nadir Ali Abro for Integrity Excellence, and Irshad Ali Soomro for Intelligence Excellence. At the conclusion of the ceremony, the chief guests reaffirmed their commitment to encouraging and recognizing the brave, honest, and dedicated personnel of police and other law enforcement agencies through similar events in the future.
