HYDERABAD: Al-Rehman Welfare Organisation has expressed concern over the deteriorating condition of the Qasimabad Post Office, describing it as a facility facing numerous operational and infrastructure problems that are affecting both employees and the public.
In a joint press statement, Organisation President Apa Bushra Arain, General Secretary Khalid Arain, Provincial Media Coordinator Shahid Soomro, Mahboob Ali Memon, Faqeer Manzoor Panhwar, and other members said the post office lacks basic facilities for its staff.
They alleged that the premises are not properly cleaned and that garbage is not being removed regularly. They also said the post office has no solar power system or backup batteries, forcing employees to work in extreme heat and during prolonged power outages.
According to the organisation, the post office becomes completely dark at night due to the lack of electricity, making it difficult for staff to perform their official duties safely and efficiently.
The welfare organisation further stated that hundreds of residents visit the Qasimabad Post Office every day to pay utility bills, send and receive registered mail, and collect or dispatch parcels. However, they claimed that visitors are inconvenienced because chairs, office furniture, and other facilities are in poor condition.
The statement also noted that the post office’s signboard has deteriorated and requires replacement.
The organisation appealed to the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Federal Minister for Postal Services to take immediate notice of the situation and ensure that the legitimate issues facing the Qasimabad Post Office are resolved to improve services for both employees and the public.
