KARACHI, July 27: Inspector General of Police (IGP) Sindh Javed Alam Odho met a delegation of the Christian community, led by Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Member of the Sindh Assembly Aroma Mushtaq, at the Central Police Office (CPO) in Karachi.
Welcoming the delegation, the IGP held detailed discussions on strengthening cooperation between the police and minority communities, maintaining law and order, and ensuring the protection and welfare of religious minorities across Sindh.
IGP Javed Alam Odho said Sindh Police remains fully committed to protecting the lives, property, and religious freedoms of all minority communities and is taking every possible measure to ensure their safety and security.
He directed police officials to address the concerns and suggestions raised by members of the Christian community on a priority basis and stressed the importance of enhancing communication and coordination between law enforcement agencies and minority groups.
PPP MPA Aroma Mushtaq appreciated the leadership of the IGP and commended the efforts of Sindh Police in promoting the protection of minorities and fostering interfaith harmony throughout the province.
During the meeting, representatives of the Christian community presented several proposals related to security arrangements, community policing, and closer cooperation with law enforcement agencies. The IGP welcomed the recommendations and assured participants that they would receive due consideration.
IGP Odho emphasised that a relationship of trust between the public and the police is the foundation of lasting peace and stability. He added that ensuring equal, fair, and respectful treatment for all communities, regardless of faith or background, remains one of the highest priorities of Sindh Police.
The meeting concluded in a cordial atmosphere, with both sides reaffirming their commitment to continued cooperation, the promotion of religious harmony, and joint efforts to strengthen peace, security, and social cohesion across Sindh.
