Islamabad: The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) has forecast rain accompanied by strong winds and thunderstorms in several parts of the country today, including Sindh, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan, Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to the PMD, heavy rainfall is expected in Tharparkar, Umerkot, Mirpurkhas and surrounding areas of Sindh. Meanwhile, Karachi is likely to experience light rain or drizzle during the day.

The weather department has also predicted heavy downpours in Dera Ghazi Khan and northeastern Balochistan, warning that intense rainfall could trigger flash flooding in local streams and seasonal waterways.

Authorities have advised residents in vulnerable areas to remain cautious, particularly in locations prone to flooding, and to stay updated with official weather advisories.

The PMD continues to monitor the evolving weather system and has urged the public to take necessary precautions to minimise the risk of weather-related incidents during the forecast period.
