Abu Dhabi: The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has strongly condemned recent incidents in the occupied West Bank, issuing a statement denouncing attacks on mosques and assaults on Palestinians while holding the Israeli government responsible for the deteriorating situation.
In an official statement, the UAE government expressed strong condemnation of the reported burning of mosques and attacks against Palestinians in the West Bank, stating that the government of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu bears responsibility for preventing such incidents and ensuring the protection of civilians and religious sites.
The UAE described the reported attacks on mosques by Israeli assailants as acts of extremism and incitement against Muslims, calling for those responsible to be brought before the law and held accountable for their actions.
The Emirati government further stressed that failure to take legal action against the perpetrators would amount to tacit support for their actions, warning that impunity would encourage further violence and undermine efforts to maintain peace and stability.
According to the statement, the incidents in the West Bank risk fuelling hatred, racism and instability, further aggravating tensions in the occupied Palestinian territory.
The UAE reiterated its call for respect for international law, the protection of places of worship and civilians, and accountability for attacks targeting religious sites.
