Pakistan’s T20 captain Agha Salman has expressed confidence in the team’s approach, saying that the current strategy will continue until the T20 World Cup. He emphasized that Pakistan will learn from past mistakes to improve their overall performance on the global stage.
Speaking at a press conference in Rawalpindi, Salman said the team gained valuable lessons during the Asia Cup, adding that they are focused on refining their execution and consistency. “We have learned a lot from the Asia Cup. The important thing is to identify our mistakes and make sure we don’t repeat them,” he stated.
The captain stressed that Pakistan’s focus is on data-driven preparation, saying that every venue and pitch condition is carefully analyzed before matches. “Wherever we play, we study the ground’s statistics and try to score more than the average total on that surface,” he said.
Discussing his personal performance, Salman admitted that his recent form with the bat has not met expectations but assured that he is determined to contribute more effectively to the team’s success. “My individual performance in the last two or three series hasn’t been up to the mark. My main goal now is to help the team win matches,” he said.
He added that while his primary role is as a batter, he remains available to bowl if required by the team. “My first priority is batting, but if the situation demands, I’ll definitely bowl as well,” he remarked.
Salman further noted that maintaining a balanced and adaptable strategy will be key to Pakistan’s success in the upcoming T20 World Cup. “We are sticking to our strategy. The focus is on teamwork, adaptability, and ensuring every player knows their role. This plan will remain in place until the World Cup,” he concluded.
