KARACHI: District South Police carried out a special operation in the Darakhshan Police Station jurisdiction, targeting alleged brothels and individuals accused of violating residency regulations in the Badar Commercial and Muslim Commercial areas of DHA.
According to a statement issued by the District South Police spokesperson, the operation focused on premises allegedly being used for prostitution as well as people residing without complying with the Sindh Temporary Residence Act, 2015 (SITRA Act).
During the first operation, police raided flats in Badar Commercial, Phase V, DHA, and Muslim Commercial, Phase VI, where 11 transgender persons were arrested on allegations of illegal residence.
Police registered FIR Nos. 500/2026 and 501/2026 under Section 11/3 of the Sindh Temporary Residence Act, 2015. The statement alleges the arrests were made for violations of the temporary residence law.
In a separate raid on a flat in Badar Commercial, Phase V, police detained six men and four women who, according to the police, were allegedly involved in prostitution and other immoral activities.
A case, FIR No. 502/2026, was registered against the suspects under Sections 294 and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC).
Police said further legal proceedings against all arrested individuals are underway.
The operation was announced by the District South Police, headed by SSP Mahzoor Ali.
