Islamabad, October 18, 2025:
Former Senator Mushtaq Ahmed Khan has formally joined the opposition alliance, Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain-e-Pakistan (Movement for the Protection of Pakistan’s Constitution), after accepting an invitation from its leadership.
According to a statement issued by the alliance, senior leaders of Tehreek Tahaffuz-e-Aain-e-Pakistan, including Mehmood Khan Achakzai and Allama Raja Nasir Abbas, met the former senator at his residence in Islamabad to extend the invitation. During the meeting, the delegation congratulated Mushtaq Ahmed Khan on his recent participation in the Global Solidarity Flotilla and praised his continued efforts for justice, democracy, and constitutional supremacy in Pakistan.
Mushtaq Ahmed Khan, who previously represented Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) in the Senate, is widely known for his principled stance on constitutionalism, civil rights, and foreign policy independence. His decision to join the alliance is being viewed as a significant political development that could strengthen the opposition’s unity and moral narrative.
