HYDERABAD: A consultative meeting was held at the Women Police Station Hyderabad to establish the District Women Leadership Forum, Hyderabad, an initiative aimed at promoting women’s leadership, protection, and empowerment.
The meeting was organized by the Civil Society Support Programme (CSSP) in collaboration with the Hyderabad District Police.
The session was attended by DSP Paras Bakrani, CSSP Head of Programs Abdul Wahid Sangrasi, Senator Krishna Kumari, Women Police Station SHO Inspector Sakina Bhatti, Nausheen Salawat from the Minority Cell, women police officers, district councillors, female lawyers, social welfare officials, social activists, businesswoman Iram Maria, and women leaders, entrepreneurs, and youth representatives from various sectors.
Participants held detailed discussions on the need to establish a coordinated platform dedicated to women’s protection, legal assistance, economic empowerment, leadership development, and greater political and social participation.
The meeting also emphasized strengthening cooperation among the police, government departments, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders to improve support for women, encourage young female leaders, and promote women-led businesses.
Following extensive consultations, participants unanimously approved the establishment of the District Women Leadership Forum, Hyderabad.
The forum adopted the vision statement:
“Informed, United, Safe, Empowered, and Prosperous Women.”
Office-bearers for the newly formed forum were also elected.

In a message shared on the occasion, SSP Hyderabad Shahzeb Chachar said that the protection, dignity, and empowerment of women remain among the top priorities of Sindh Police.
He stated that creating a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for women is a collective responsibility, adding that the District Women Leadership Forum would serve as an effective bridge between law enforcement, public institutions, civil society, and the community.
The SSP reaffirmed that Hyderabad District Police would continue to provide every possible support for safeguarding women’s rights and ensuring the timely resolution of their concerns.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants pledged to work collectively to make the forum an active platform for promoting women’s rights, safety, development, and mutual cooperation across the district.
It was also agreed that the forum’s next meeting would finalize its operational framework, membership procedures, and future activities aimed at strengthening women’s participation and leadership in Hyderabad.
