KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjar has announced the end of a 15-year-long tribal feud in Larkana, describing it as a landmark achievement by the Sindh Police.
According to the provincial home minister, members of the Jiho and Dhani tribes voluntarily surrendered before the law after prolonged efforts by law enforcement authorities. He said the group of those who surrendered included several wanted suspects carrying head-money rewards.
Lanjar stated that 28 individuals from the two tribes laid down their arms and handed themselves over to the authorities. He added that all of the accused would now face legal proceedings in the courts.
The minister said the tribal conflict had claimed 25 lives over the past 15 years and left many others injured.
He further noted that the prolonged dispute had devastated local communities, leaving around 2,000 acres of agricultural land uncultivated and forcing the abandonment of three villages due to persistent violence.
According to Lanjar, the impartial and indiscriminate action taken by the Larkana Police played a key role in persuading both tribes to abandon violence, reconcile, and submit to the rule of law.
The provincial government has described the development as an important step toward restoring lasting peace, stability, and normalcy in the affected areas, while emphasizing that the judicial process will now determine the fate of those who surrendered.
