Punjab witnessed widespread rainfall accompanied by thunderstorms and gusty winds, bringing relief from lingering heat but also causing power outages and disruptions.
In Lahore, heavy showers drenched several areas including Davis Road, Garhi Shahu, Circular Road, Mall Road, Airport, Saddar, Baghbanpura, Harbanspura, and Mughalpura. Localities such as Gulshan Ravi, Sanda, Samanabad, Chauburji, and Allama Iqbal Town experienced torrential rain, which disrupted electricity supply in many neighborhoods.
Other cities including Okara, Sahiwal, and Kasur reported thunderstorms and rain, while Kamalia, Toba Tek Singh, and Faisalabad saw light to heavy showers in different pockets. The widespread rain has brought temporary relief but also highlighted the need for better urban drainage systems to prevent waterlogging.
Meanwhile, in the northern region, the upper areas of Astore, including Chilam Sheer Qali, witnessed the season’s first snowfall, signaling the early arrival of winter.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, rainfall is expected today across Islamabad, Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan. In some areas, heavy downpours and even hailstorms are likely, raising the possibility of flash floods in vulnerable zones.
Authorities have advised residents in low-lying areas to remain cautious, while travelers heading toward the northern regions are urged to plan carefully due to snowfall and slippery road conditions.
