Six tourists die, one girl missing as boat capsized in Kalam’s Saifullah Lake

At least seven tourists died and seven other got injured after a boat capsized in Kalam’s Saifullah Lake, Swat,

Rescue officials shifted the bodies and injured victims to Kalam Hospital. Officials confirmed that the tourists were from Islamabad. 

Seven people, apparently from the same family, were on board the boat accident that occurred in Saifullah Lake, Kalam. As a result of the accident, the bodies of six people have been recovered and shifted to THQ Hospital, Kalam, while a 17-year-old girl is still missing and a rescue operation is underway to find her. 

According to the spokesperson, the deceased include 2 women, 2 children and 2 men. Rescue teams are busy searching for the missing girl, while more confirmed information will be released when received. 

Upon receiving the information, rescue teams, ambulances and tourism police were immediately dispatched to the scene. Despite the difficult and mountainous terrain, the rescue personnel reached the spot on time.

The Upper Swat Development Authority (USDA) also provided full support in the rescue operation along with Rescue 1122, the district administration, Swat Police, Tourism Police and the local Jeep Association.
